WOW

We had a great Christmas. Santa was very generous this year. He brought Paige one of those Webkinz stuffed animals. It seems that he should have brought it to me. I am so addicted to that darn website and all the games and trivia on it that Paige and I sit for long periods playing the games. I even started the whole thing without her. Bad mom I know. So I decided that I need to get one for myself. I also got the girls a game for the Nintendo DS and they haven't even touched it. Doug is all over that one. I guess Doug and I should never buy things for each other because we end up taking the girls toys. Boy aren't we the model parents! LOL!

Same ol same ol

Ok well Doug was feeling better after they took his pickline out for a bout a week. Now he has another infection and for the past week he has had to get shots in both ears twice a week. Poor guy it really hurts him. Paige was sick and stayed home from school one day last week. She is so funny. I tell her that she has to stay home from school and she actually cries. She is so up set that she cant go to school that I think she fakes being well just so she can go! I have been really sick for the past month and the last two weeks I have had many test done. I meet with another doctor next week to view my options about surgery to remove scar tissue in my abdomin. Fun huh!
Last night we had my dads christmas party at my brother Johns house. We had Maddie with us. We had so much fun and the girls were so wired even by the time we got home that we had to wrestle them to bed. Thank you everyone for the fun night. We were all so happy to see everyone. I laugh everytime Doug gets together with my family because he comments EVERY time how much he likes everyone and how cute the babbies are. It is very cute. I am happy to know that he likes my family as much as they like him.

Good with the bad

Well we have some good and bad news. Doug is FINALLY doing really well. He got his pic line out last week and he is feeling lots better. Paige and I had the stomach flu last Sunday. Good news Paige pulled through with flying colors, bad news I did not. I ended up not only having the stomach flu but gallbladder problems as well. I see the surgeon tomorrow to see what has to be done. yippee another surgery for me. Good news Christmas shopping is all done so we don't have to worry about that. Bad news, I haven't been able to get the bulbs in the ground, hopefully I can get them in before the ground freezes so we can have tulips and daffodils. Oh another thing. Sears salon decided to cut 4 people from their salon and guess what? I was one of the 4. Another Yippee! All things happen for a reason so I guess I cant be too upset about it. Oh Sam and John I have the greatest picture of the three of us. Ill have to show you and see if I can get it on the blog too.
Merry Christmas all ya all!

Update

Yay! Doug gets his pick line out in 8 days. He is doing really well and we are all excited. Its about darn time. I get to quit Convergys!!!!! I am so excited. However I have to get out of the house a couple of days a week so I applied at Sears. I did get the job in the hair salon at Sears and I go in and discuss details on friday with the manager. I am only going to be working two days a week and one saturday a month. Can't get any better than that! I am really excited to get back into hair, I really love doing it. Paige and Maddie are doing well. Paige keeps asking when she gets to be a Schiffman too. It's cute. We also get to spend most of Thanksgiving day with Maddie. It will be nice.

Whew!!!!

Thank goodness that's over! Doug and I got married on Sunday! It was so much fun and it was everything we had hoped for. Thank you to all of you who came and showed your support. The four of us are really excited to start this journey together. Doug has expressed an extreme interest in adopting Paige. We have talked to Paige about it and she said that she would like to be a Schiffman like the rest of us. She was sad the other day that she was the only Foster in the house. So Doug and I talked about it and we let her know that I would stay a Foster until she became a Schiffman too. She seemed to glow at that. She wanted us to do it together. Man that kid makes my heart melt.

It's about time

We finally got some answers yesterday! Doug went to an infectious disease doctor yesterday. we found out that the doctors have been using the wrong meds for the past three weeks and that the infections that he has been having are not only the staph but perhaps two other infections to go along with it. The doctors have only been treating the staph and the other problems have been left to make problems. The new meds that he is on are scary powerful and he has to have blood drawn every couple of days to watch it but hopefully it will do the trick.
Maddie has been able to stay with us for longer than normal her other family has been really sick. Is that awful to be happy about that? We have been happy to have her.
Paige has loved maddie being here.

Almost

Whew!!!! Doug tells me that we have only 135 hours till we get married. Yes he is keeping track. I am excited to get this all out of the way. It has been a bit stressful but thats what its all about huh. Paige and Maddie are still excited to be together and they have been learning to resolve their own problems. The majority of the time they do really well. They are excited to get married and wear their pretty dresses.
Doug still has a pick line and will probably have it for the wedding too. He has to go and see an infectious disease doctor on Wednesday. Hopefully we can finally get all this stuff under control so he will start feeling better. I am sad when he feels crummy. But it is nice because he is upbeat and always puts me and the girls first no matter how bad he is feeling. Man I am lucky!!!!!!!!
I had to go to the doctor for my knee again. It has been dislocating. Man that hurts. We are going to try and strengthen all the muscles around my knee first but if that doesn't work I will have, yes, another knee surgery to replace my kneecap and make a deeper grove in my femur bone where the kneecap sits. Ya! I so don't want to do that!
Well that's all folks and we hope to see ya all at the wedding!

Good Times

Paige and I had so much fun on Halloween and at Alex's baptism. Poor Doug had to work. He was sad to miss the fun. A week before Halloween Doug, Paige and I went with his family to a pumpkin walk. It was fun to be with his family and have good laughs.
Doug is feeling a little bit better and it is nice to have him smiling.
Everything is going well for the wedding. All we have to do now is wait. Blech! I think that is the hardest part.

Sighhhh!!!

Well Doug does have a staph infection in his ear but it is not mersa staph. So he got a pick line for major doses of antibiotics. Hopefully that works. If not, than he has to have surgery. Everything else is going really well. I got my bridals done today. Man that was cold but it was fun. We have 20 days to go till the big day. Maddie and Paige are doing well and they are enjoying school. They are excited for Halloween to get here.

What next?

Well we have started the flu season with a bang. Both Doug and I had it this past weekend and we are just hoping that Paige's sniffles doesn't get any worse.
Doug's Shoulder is healing well. He still can't carry heavy stuff but the doctor isn't making him wear the sling anymore. That's about the only good news we have heard about him. LOL! Well Doug went to the doctor at the U of U about his ear and it was not the best appointment. He has a major infection in his ear and he had to get two shots in his ear in two days. All while he had the flu. Poor baby. The doctor says that if the shots do not clear up the infection he has to have another, yes another, pick line. And if that doesn't work than he has to have surgery on his ear. Wonderful. He is really nervous and he hopes the shots work but we haven't seen much improvement since Friday when he got his last shot. Please remember him in your prayers. That would be a great help.
Paige gets her kindergarten pictures taken tomorrow. She is so excited that she wants me to curl her hair and make her all fancy. It is so cute.
Maddie came over to and we carved pumpkins. The girls were so excited and dad was the worse. He kept getting the girls all goopy. I had to get after him for making a bigger mess than the girls. :) Good times were had by all. Maddie is such a cutie she told us that she wanted to stay with us and play with Paige forever. Brings tears to my eyes when she says stuff like that. Doug says she crys when he is on his way taking her home. Breaks my heart because Paige and I want her here too.
I have been thinking about going back to work at a hair salon a couple days a week. Sears has given me an open ended invitation to work at the salon there so we will see. I hope my leg and shoulders can keep up with me because I think that would be awsome.

Paige was sad to see Maddie go back to her moms today. She gets so bored when Maddie is not around. I guess poor old mom just doesn't cut it for a play mate any more :) Doug called me from work and told me that his ear was hurting him. Well I know that's nothing new but he explained that is was the other ear that usually has the problems and that his "good" ear was bleeding and hurting really bad. Good grief! That poor boy and his ears. So hopefully we can get him in to the doctor pronto to have it looked at. I hope its nothing serious.
I was able to take a leave of absence from work for about two weeks. Man its nice to be able to be around at night for Paige and Maddie and be awake during the day for Doug before he goes to work.
We got the proofs back for our invitations! They are so fun. They should be here in about two weeks. So look for them in the mail.

Sunday, October 12, 2008

Well we finally got our pictures for our announcements done.
Art was here for the weekend and we played bowling on the Wii. I won two out of three!! Hahaha!
We had a nice time at the family dinner we had at John and Charese's house.
Maddie gets to be with us until Wednesday. She and Paige are so happy.
We got lots of snow today. Doug and I were not expecting as much as there was. There was about four inches on the grass and the trees but luckily the roads are clear.
And Doug wants it noted that his Rams beat Sam's Redskins 19-17!!

Saturday, October 11, 2008

Well I figured I would try and keep up with the rest of my family. So here goes my first blogging experience. YAY! Well Doug and I have FINALLY been able to pin down a wedding date. Its November 16, 2008. It's about time. We are excited.
Paige is in all day kindergarten and has blossomed. She is loving it and she is making lots of friends. Everyone seems to be helping her come out of her shell.
Maddie is the one of the most advanced in her kindergarten class. Her teacher has to give her extra work just so she doesn't get too bored during classes.
Maddie and Paige are such opposite personalities that they mesh really well. Paige gets so excited when Maddie comes over she plans what toys they are going to play with and lays them all out. It is really cute.
We have two new kitties. Yoda and Marilyn. Maddie and Paige chase them around the house and put them in laundry baskets and just completely mauls them. The cats love it.
Doug is working hard and I am hardly working. It is nice to be able to stay home and be with Maddie and Paige and actually be a home maker. I can usually only take about four days of that then I have to go to work for my sanity for a couple of days. :)
